ACA Staff Responsibility Changes
| |
ACA is excited to announce a few important staff changes.
After 16 years of service to the organization, Shenlin Chen is retiring from her position as Executive Director. She is joining the ACA Board and will remain active with the organization, providing her input and guidance based on her years of experience as the Executive Director.
Several staff members will be shifting their work responsibilities and taking on new roles within ACA.
Yihong (Joyce) Li will transition from her position as Accountant and Fiscal Officer to take over the Executive Director position. Joyce has been a dedicated employee for the past eight years and she looks forward to taking on the challenging position of Executive Director.
After seven years working at ACA's Chinese Community Center (CCC), Shirley Yee will be splitting her time between the CCC and the Detroit Service Center. She will take over the accounting responsibilities and continue handling organizational responsibilities such as membership and serving as Board liaison.
David Liou's support to ACA began as a volunteer helping to renovate the CCC before it opened. He stayed active with ACA supporting the programs offered at the CCC before joining the ACA staff a few years ago. David will expand his responsibilities in his new role as Chinese Community Center Manager. He will work closely with the Building Committee to manage the building's maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
Their new positions and responsibilities officially start March 1, 2016, but Joyce, Shirley, and David have already started training for and transitioning into their new roles. We wish them continued success in their new positions.
