APA Y-Advocate | |
Launched in the Fall of 2012, APA Y-Advocate is a State Farm funded, half-day workshop with training focused on the development of Asian Pacific American (APA) youth in our communities. OCA internship alums facilitate the training and the program is brought to local OCA chapters. Students participating in the workshop will develop leadership skills, build a growing relationship with the local OCA chapter, gain awareness of social justice issues, and have an understanding of why it's important to advocate. To learn more about the APA Y-Advocate program and 2013 workshop dates, click here. On December 1, 2012, ACA hosted this workshop at the Chinese Community Center. It was led by OCA facilitators Alex Tsao and Boosaba Pananon. There were 25 Asian Pacific American students from area high schools who participated in the workshop.
