Successful turnout for Asian American Health Disparities Community Conversations

ACA and the Michigan Department of Community Health's Health Disparities Reduction and Minority Health Section/ Division of Health, Wellness, and Disease Control conducted two Asian American Health Disparity Community Conversations on September 20th and 27th.

A productive dialogue was established among the 80 people who participated in the two gatherings and answered six key questions related to the greatest health concerns facing our community. A variety of Asian ethnicities were represented and participants included community leaders, physicians, educators, medical students and the general public.

A total of twenty-five community conversations will be held state-wide. At the end of the year, the Department will use the information gathered at the community conversations to produce a white paper listing recommended actions.
