High School Scholarship Awards
目前没有中文版

This is the 30th year that ACA has offered scholarships to local high school students. Also participating in this scholarship program with their own scholarships are the Detroit Chinese Engineers Association (DCEA) and the Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA).

As many as seven (7) scholarships will be awarded for different criteria. Scholarships will be awarded to students who are judged to :
     1) be among the most outstanding from an elite group of young scholars, or
     2) excel beyond physical disability, or other personal hardships to attend college, or
     3) exhibit creativity and well-rounded development.

Besides school counselors, students who may qualify and people who may know of a student who may qualify can also submit nomination applications by following the process indicated on the nomination application form.

Qualified individuals will be recognized for their achievements at the High School Achievement Awards Dinner to be held in December 2013.

Information for Class of 2014

ACA will offer scholarships to Class of 2014 students who (1) have a 3.8 GPA or better, very good test scores, and exhibit community involvement, and leadership, or (2) creativity and well-rounded development, or (3) have overcome a physical hardship and have a 3.5 GPA or better. DCEA offers two $1,000 scholarships to the Class of 2014 applicants who are proclaiming a major in engineering. CAPA is offering a scholarship to Class of 2014 students planning to major in business, accounting, or Asian Pacific American studies at an in-state school.

Nominees must complete the nomination application form, provide transcripts and an essay, and be interviewed. The essay form will be sent under separate cover to each nominee at the end of summer. Each nominee will be required to express their college plans and career goals in a 15-minute interview with the High School Achievements Awards Scholarship Committee to be held in October 2013. Each finalist will receive a certificate, and the scholarship recipients may each receive a scholarship award of between $500 and $1,000. The decision of the committee is final.
