ACA Chinese New Year Celebrations
The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) will be welcoming in the Year of the Rooster with these events.

ACA's Lunar New Year Banquet Sat., Feb. 4 at 5pm
The Banquet will be held at the Golden Harvest Restaurant in Warren, Mich. A ten-course gourmet Chinese dinner will be served. There will be raffle drawings, a silent auction, and entertainment. Tickets are: $35 for ACA Members, $40 for non-members, $350 for a Table of Ten. Sponsorships are available also. Click here to see the event flyer.

ACA's Lantern Festival Sat., Feb. 11 at 11am
This event is open to the public and will be held at the Chinese Community Center in Madison Heights.

Upcoming events
This event will help college students choose a career path, provide networking opportunities and some self-improvement training.

This is a 10 Day, 8 night trip to visit six major cities in Taiwan. A unique itinerary has been planned. Space is limited.

New Directors Elected to ACA Board
ACA members gathered on December 4th to hear reports on the status of the organization and to elect new directors to the Board for the term of January 2017 through December 2019.

The new directors are: Charles Liu, Tony Tai, Tess Tchou, Tim Wei, and Gloria Zhao. They will be joining Shenlin Chen, Sharon Dow, Roland Hwang, John Siak, Shung H. (Sue) Sung, and Jay Zheng on the Board.

Executive Vice President Angela Wang Beasinger and Treasurer Angelina Chin retired from the Board at the end of December. New officers were elected at the December ACA Board meeting. Shenlin Chen will be the Executive Vice President and Gloria Zhao will be the Treasurer beginning January 1st.

We welcome the new directors and look forward to working with them.

For the 32nd year, ACA awarded scholarships to several of these outstanding high school seniors selected by the Scholarship Committee in a process that included an interview. The Detroit Chinese Engineers Association (DCEA) participated in the selection process to award two DCEA scholarships.
