| ACA's 42nd Anniversary Celebration Banquet Recap | |
About 170 people attended ACA's annual fundraising event at the San Marino Club in Troy on October 17th.
Guests from our Corporate Sponsors (Comerica Bank, Comcast, DTE Energy, AARP, and ACCESS) joined in the celebration of another successful year serving the community.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Bing Goei, Director of the Michigan Office of New Americans, gave an informative speech which touched upon this year's theme of Visionary Dream to the Future. The entertainment included wonderful folk dance performances by the Wind Dance Chinese Culture Group and the ACA Folk Dance Group. Outstanding Counselor Awards were presented to Esther Kaufmann and Albert Wang. Three other award recipients (Katrina Stebbins, Jason Wang, and Alice Wu) were unable to attend the Banquet. Each award recipient also receives a $100 scholarship.

This free workshop will be held at the Detroit Service Center. Participants will learn more about the Affordable Care Act and how to sign up for health care coverage. Open enrollment for 2015 healthcare coverage begins November 15th.
Seniors living in Macomb County are encouraged to attend this free workshop at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library to learn more about the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment for 2015 healthcare coverage begins November 15th. Participants will also learn about the services available to seniors that are offered at the ACA Macomb County Center.
Thanksgiving Volunteer Lunch Nov. 15
This is a by-invitation-only event is held annually to thank and acknowledge our many volunteers who have helped us during the year.

Recaps on Other Recent Events

Northern Indiana Outing
From September 23rd-24th, about 50 people visited several destinations located in northern Indiana, including the Heritage Trails and Quilt Gardens, the Ruthmere Museum, and the Wellfield Botanic Gardens. The participants also visited the Midwest's largest flea market in Shipshewana, Indiana.
ACA Moon Festival
On September 19th, over 100 people gathered at the Chinese Community Center for a special luncheon to celebrate the Moon Festival. The program included a variety of performances of dancing, singing, magic tricks, and a fashion show.
